Here is a list of common questions about the project.

What is the mapping project?
We are mapping the locations of every Phi Theta Kappa chapter on interactive maps. As part of the program we are determining geographical conditions as they relate to the affluence of each region. There is an Affluence Questionnaire on this site that will be use to understand the conditions.


What are the projects goals?
To better understand the differing views of the current Honors Study Topics, The Paradox of Affluence: Choices, Challenges, and Consequences by geographical area.
To connect Phi Theta Kappa members, chapter, regions, and divisions so that their efforts can be combined to save resources and have a larger impact though programming.
To map the locations of all of the chapters of Phi Theta Kappa so as to make an interactive map that will further save resources by its use. Back to top


How does this relate to the Honors Study Topic- The Paradox of Affluence: Chooses, Challenges, and Consequences?
This is an effort to better understand the differences between perceived affluence and actual socioeconomic conditions. Also, the reason geographical locations affect the affluence of an area is a paradox. Back to top

What are the responsibilities of being a member of this project?
Divisional Project Leaders serve as the recruiter for each division to fill Regional Representative positions. They serve to motivate the Regional Representative to complete the mapping of each region and to distribute and compile the questionnaires on the perceived affluence of each
region. These leaders serve as a point of contact for the members wishing to participate in the project. They will act as the distribution point of all resources needed by the participants. They will be administrators for the Face Book group “Mapping Phi Theta Kappa.” They will serve as a replacement for any position that remains vacant or becomes vacant that cannot be filled by another participant. They will contribute to the work of mapping the regions. They will report to the Project Coordinator.
The Regional Representatives will serve to complete the maps and questionnaires. They will serve to recruit members in the region to work on the maps and questionnaires. They will contribute to the work of mapping the regions. They serve to motivate the participants of the project. They will report to the Divisional Project Leaders. Back to top
